MV Bianca C. was a passenger ship that sank twice. The first time in France before being completed and the second time after an explosion and fire off the island of Grenada. She was launched in 1944 and whilst on tow to Port de Bouc, she was scuttled by the Germans. The hull was raised and returned to La Ciotat to be refitted as a cruise ship. In 1961 the ship was on a trip from Naples to Venezuela. It was docked off Grenada when an explosion occurred in the engine room. Unequipped to deal with the fire, help had to come from a British frigate which took 2 days to arrive. To prevent the ship from blocking the harbor, she was towed but only by about 3 miles when the towline broke. She quickly sank to a depth of 50m.
